What are Yogurt-Filled Granola Cups?

Yogurt-filled granola cups are a creative twist on traditional parfaits that feature crispy, baked oat cups made with peanut butter and maple syrup, filled with velvety yogurt, and topped with fresh berries. The combination creates a perfect balance of textures — from the satisfying crunch of the granola cup to the smooth yogurt filling and juicy berries on top.

These portable breakfast cups transform everyday ingredients into an Instagram-worthy morning meal. The peanut butter helps bind the oats together while adding rich flavor, and the maple syrup provides just enough sweetness to complement the tangy yogurt filling.

Ingredients You Need

  • Old-Fashioned Oats – The hearty texture of old-fashioned oats creates the perfect sturdy base. Using this variety helps the cups hold their shape and maintain their crunchiness.
  • Peanut Butter – The natural oils in peanut butter bind everything together beautifully. Room-temperature peanut butter mixes most easily with the other ingredients.
  • Maple Syrup – Pure maple syrup adds a subtle sweetness and brings out the nutty flavors of the oats and peanut butter.
  • Vanilla Yogurt – The creamy filling adds protein and a luscious texture. Greek yogurt works especially well because of its thick, rich consistency.
  • Fresh Raspberries – We love the bright pop of color and tartness that raspberries add! Plus, they balance the nutty base perfectly.

How to Make Yogurt Filled Granola Cups

  1. Mix the base. Mix the oats, peanut butter, and maple syrup until thoroughly blended.
  2. Shape the cups. Press the mixture into the wells of a muffin tin and form it into cups before placing the tin in the oven.
  3. Bake until golden. Watch for the edges to turn crispy. Then, remove them from the oven.
  4. Cool completely. Allow the cups to set fully for the crunchiest texture.
  5. Fill and garnish. Add yogurt and top with fresh berries just before serving.

Variations

  • Chocolate Lover’s – Add mini chocolate chips to the oat mixture and top with chocolate yogurt for an indulgent breakfast option.
  • Tropical Paradise – Use coconut butter instead of peanut butter and top with mango chunks and passion fruit.
  • Berry Blast – Mix dried blueberries into the oat base and top with mixed berry yogurt and fresh berries.
  • Banana Bread – Add mashed banana to the base and top with honey yogurt and walnut pieces.
  • Apple Pie – Mix cinnamon into the base and top with apple-flavored yogurt and caramelized apples.
  • Protein Power – Add protein powder to the oat mixture and use high-protein Greek yogurt for extra nutrition.
  • Nutty Crunch – Mix chopped almonds into the base and top with almond butter drizzle.

Can I Store Leftovers?

The granola cups maintain their crunch best when stored separately from the yogurt and toppings.

Store the baked cups in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

The cups can be frozen for up to 3 months, but fill them with yogurt and toppings only when ready to serve.

Common Questions about Yogurt-Filled Granola Cups

Can I make these granola cups gluten-free?

Yes, simply use certified gluten-free oats and check that your peanut butter is gluten-free as well.

Why do my granola cups fall apart?

There are a couple of reasons that granola cups may not maintain their structure. To help prevent them from falling apart, make sure to pack the oat mixture firmly into the muffin tins and let them cool completely before removing them.

Can I use different nut butters?

Any nut or seed butter works great — almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter are excellent alternatives.

How long do filled granola cups stay fresh?

Once filled with yogurt, the cups are best eaten within 2-3 hours to maintain their crispy texture. You can store the unfilled cups in the fridge for up to 5 days.
