Over the last few years, we’ve seen a bit of a Stanley Cup craze thanks to TikTok and social media. We aren’t talking about the National Hockey League trophy! We mean the sturdy yet stylish insulated Stanley brand drinking cups, mugs, and thermoses. Fabulous and functional, they’re famous for keeping food and drinks at the perfect temperature.

Here at Food Dolls, we’re huge fans of anything that’s going to help us store and transport food and drinks more easily. Especially when it keeps everything at just the right temperature. Here’s how we use our Stanley drinking cups!

What Can I Put in My Stanley Cup?

The beauty of the Stanley Cup thermos lies in its versatility. It’s not just for coffee; it’s a food and beverage chameleon! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

1. Morning Joe, Anywhere We Go

Caffeine is basically our BFF throughout the week. We’re all about brewing it up early and ensuring it’s a constant companion throughout the day.

We love to fill up a Stanley Cup thermos with coffee or tea (or what we call liquid gold!) and let the steamy goodness last the whole day. And, if you’re not in the mood for a caffeinated pick-me-up, you can always use it to keep warm. Try it out with drinks like bone broth hot chocolate or peppermint hot chocolate.

2. Soup’s On!

We love a hot, and hearty soup for lunch and the Stanley Cup thermos is up for the task. We just pour in our soup, secure the lid, and savor a warm and satisfying meal when we’re ready!

You can dive into the on-the-go soup experience with some of our absolute favorites! Creamy chicken and rice soup, roasted butternut squash soup with feta, and slow cooker vegetable soup all travel well. Plus, they’re the perfect way to inject a little comfort into your mid-day.

You don’t need to reserve your thermos for just soup, though. We have other warm foods we like to stash in our Stanleys. Make the most of dinner leftovers like broccoli mac and cheese, Greek couscous, or one pot taco pasta. Turn them into a hot and wholesome lunch.

3. Stanley Cup And Chill

Don’t be fooled by its heat-retaining prowess. The Stanley Cup thermos is also amazing at keeping things cold for hours! Fill it with your favorite iced beverage, whether it’s iced tea or lemonade (we love this Egyptian mint lemonade!). You’ll stay refreshed throughout the day.

You can also pack it with cold snacks like an Egyptian fruit salad or a sweet treat like chocolate mousse.

4. Mocktails (Or Cocktails) To Go

Upgrade your picnics or outdoor gatherings by turning your Stanley Cup thermos into a portable cocktail shaker. Mix up your favorite drinks at home, pour them into the thermos, and shake things up wherever the party is!

There’s just one caveat on this — Stanley doesn’t recommend storing carbonated beverages like soda in its thermoses. So, save adding the bubbles until you’re ready to serve.

What Else Do You Use a Stanley Cup Thermos For?

It may seem like it’s just a thermos, but it’s also a game-changer in so many aspects of our daily lives!

1. Commute Companion

In the interest of being eco-friendly, we said goodbye to disposable cups. We’ve embraced using our thermoses and reusable bottles instead! Since it fits into a car cup holder, it’s perfect for taking along a pick-me-up. We bring them on the way to the gym or while we’re waiting in the school pickup line!

2. Outdoor Adventures

Whether we’re hitting the trails, camping, or just enjoying a day at the park, a thermos is our adventure ally. It keeps our foods and drinks at just the right temperature for long periods. Plus, it’s also easy to throw into backpacks and totes!

3. Hydration on Demand

Meeting hydration goals can be a challenge. However, it’s a little easier when we can fill our Stanley tumbler with water early in the day and keep it cold!

It’s especially great for storing infused water. Just add your lemon, cucumber, or other fruits or veggies to the thermos with your water. This is the easiest way to make your water more enticing to sip throughout the day. It’s a total upgrade on your standard water bottle!

Can You Put Hot Things in a Stanley Cup Thermos?

Absolutely! Stanley drinkware is designed to handle both hot and cold food and drinks. To keep your food or drink at the right temperature, fill it with hot or cold water for a few minutes. Then, pour out the water and add your favorite food or drink.

Tips on How to Clean Stanley Cup Thermos

Maintaining your Stanley insulated thermos is a breeze with these simple tips:

1. Hand Wash with Warm Water

To ensure the longevity of your stainless steel thermos, hand wash it with warm water and mild soap. Technically, Stanley drinking cups are dishwasher-safe. However, we prefer to not expose our thermoses to the abrasive detergents in the dishwasher.

Also – make sure to give the lid a good scrubbing with a soft sponge or small brush and gentle dish soap. The lid is where hidden residues like to hide!

2. Baking Soda Magic

If your thermos develops an unwanted smell, a solution of baking soda and water can work wonders. Let it sit for a bit before rinsing, and your thermos will be as fresh as new.

3. Regular Maintenance

Give your thermos some love by cleaning it regularly. This not only ensures a pristine drinking experience but also prevents any lingering odors or flavors.

So that’s just a snapshot of how we like to roll with our Stanleys — now it’s your turn! Drop us a line and spill the beans on what you’re filling your Stanley gear with!
