Ingredients You Need

Below is an overview of the ingredients and instructions for this recipe. Be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details and nutrition information!

  • Mascarpone Cheese – This forms the base of the dip, creating a creamy consistency and adding a tangy taste. Allow it to soften before you begin.
  • Heavy Cream – This helps add an airy quality to the dip, making it light and fluffy.
  • Powdered Sugar – Use this to sweeten the dip without creating a graining consistency. Do not substitute granulated sugar!
  • Instant Espresso Powder – Instant coffee granules will also work. If preferred, decaf can be used.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – Dust this over the top for rich chocolate flavor in every bite.

Note: Feel free to adjust the amount of each ingredient included to suit your flavor preferences. For example, you can add more sugar for a sweeter dip. Or, add coffee liqueur for a slightly more authentic recipe.

  1. Looks amazing, Iโ€™m going to make it for our next bookclub gathering and add Baileys or coffee liquorโ€ฆ not sure how much of the added alcohol I should use, I want to be able to taste the added liquor Iโ€™m adding. Thanks

  2. 5 stars
Absolutely delicious! I only dusted the cocoa over the top and added baileys and it was a huge hit at our galentines party! Totally making this again.

  3. 4 stars
This is incredibly delicious. 4 stars because although the article refers to dusting with cocoa powder, the recipe at this time says to put it in with the mixture to whip. I did this, and it was ok, but would be better dusted over the top.

    1. Thank you for the feedback, Krista! We recommend mixing the cocoa powder in with the dip and then dusting more on top. Apologies if that was unclear. We appreciate you trying our recipes! ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. Sorry about that! We updated the recipe. There isn’t any coffee liqueur, but you could add a teaspoon or two.
