In a mixing bowl, use a fork to mash the bananas. In a second bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk together until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.

Prepare

Stir in salt, sour cream, mashed bananas, and baking soda. Sift all-purpose flour into the wet ingredients, and mix. In a separate bowl, mix the chopped pecans, maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, and a pinch of salt.

Arrange

Put the mixture on the bottom of the baking dish before adding the banana bread batter. Bake in the oven for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Bake

Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, invert it onto a wire rack, and allow to cool completely, slice, and enjoy!
